By the end of the 2017 Red Bull Global Rallycross season, Subaru Rally Team USA was perhaps the toughest challenger to Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross for race wins and podiums in the Supercar class. In the final five races of the year, Patrik Sandell and Chris Atkinson combined for four podiums and swept both pole positions at Evergreen Speedway. With five podiums overall, the two stage rally veterans combined for the team’s best Red Bull GRC season since 2014.

After marked performance improvements early on in the year, the tide began to turn as Atkinson drew first blood with a third place run at the team’s home event in New England, and Sandell nearly won in Atlantic City after an exceptional start. All in all, both drivers were an almost even match in 2017—but how do their head-to-head numbers stack up?
