Patrik Sandell Wins Pole for Red Bull Global Rallycross Seattle II
Subaru Rally Team USA posted a clean sweep of Supercar qualifying this weekend at Red Bull Global Rallycross Seattle, as Patrik Sandell backed up Chris Atkinson’s Saturday speed by taking his own pole on Sunday. Sandell, a three-time Supercar race winner, lapped Evergreen Speedway in 38.662 seconds, just .032 seconds faster than Saturday winner Tanner Foust of Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross.
In GRC Lites, points leader Cyril Raymond of Olsbergs MSE X Forces earned the pole with a lap time of 40.773 seconds as he looks to wrap up the championship today. Scott Anderson ranked second with a time of 40.904, while local favorite James Rimmer of DirtFish Motorsports placed third with a time of 41.226.
After an incident in Saturday’s final, DirtFish Motorsports driver Conner Martell was evaluated and released from a local hospital, and returned to the track later Saturday evening. He was bruised but did not suffer any broken bones. Martell has not been cleared to return to competition on Sunday.
