Red Bull Global Rallycross Unveils Course Layout for Port of Los Angeles Finale

Red Bull Global Rallycross today unveiled the course layout for its 2017 season finale, coming to the Port of Los Angeles on October 13-14. This year’s layout bears a number of similarities to the 2016 course, which produced two down-to-the-wire championship rounds decided by a combined 11 points.

At 11 turns and .654 miles, this year’s Los Angeles track is one of the most complex on the schedule and slightly shorter than last year’s .699-mile layout. The key differences come in the dirt section, which now features a square hairpin in Turns 8 and 9 before leading into the jump and hard left Turn 10. A majority of the track remains the same as in 2016, including the main straightaway, Joker Lap shortcut on the inside of Turn 3, and final corner sending drivers at speed to the finish line.

Last year’s Red Bull GRC Los Angeles season finale saw both the Supercar and GRC Lites championships decided in the main event. In Supercar, current points leader Scott Speed stared down teammate Tanner Foust on the way to a runner-up finish and his second straight championship; in GRC Lites, Cabot Bigham avoided the first-lap chaos that impacted his title rivals to climb from last on the grid to first at the checkered flag.

Red Bull Global Rallycross Los Angeles tickets remain on sale at http://www.redbullglobalrallycross.com/tickets. Saturday general admission and VIP tickets are on sale, while children’s GA and all Friday tickets are free. The Red Bull GRC season finale will air live on NBC on Saturday, October 14 at 4:30PM ET/1:30PM PT.
