Atlantic City, N.J. (August 15, 2017)  Cabot Bigham and the Bryan Herta Rallysport crew completed their most competitive event weekends to date during the 2017 Red Bull Global Rallycross season. Bigham concluded the weekend with an eighth place finish in Round 8 and sixth place finish in Round 9, however the results do not tell the whole story of Bigham’s breakout weekend.

In Saturday’s Round 8, Bigham scored his third Heat win this season with a 1.059 second triumph over Tanner Foust. In the other two heats, the #2 M-Sport car finished with two thirds. In the Final, the 2016 Lites Champion was running competitive and challenging for fourth when light contact broke the right front axle forcing him into an early retirement from the race.

In Sunday’s Round 9 races, the rookie clinched a second place finish in Heat 1A, fourth in Heat 2B, fourth in Heat 3A and a third place finish in Semifinal B. In the Final, Bigham had a great start and was running in third place, unfortunately contact from behind pushed him off course so he fell all the way back to ninth place. Bigham charged back through the field for the remaining nine laps to fifth place, drove hard and passed two cars on the last lap to an eventual sixth place finish, setting the fastest race lap in the process.

“We were very consistent in our heats and semifinals this weekend.” Said Bigham. “We had a couple instances with other cars and drivers, but ultimately we came out on top of that. I started P4, which was my best start yet for a Final and it was especially cool because I started behind Scott Speed. Being up with him and knowing that Tanner Foust was right there was a crazy experience for me because I was in a sandwich of epic drivers. My comfort level has definitely increased as I gain more experience in this car, especially since coming into this season I had very little experience. Being able to learn at every race has been very influential and very important to how we have been bonding as a team and how we have been continuing to move forward and progress. I think despite a sixth place finish today and a fourth place start, we are in a very good position going into Seattle. It’s been an awesome weekend with the boys and girls of Bryan Herta Rallysport and I cannot wait to hit the track in Seattle. “

Rounds 10 and 11 will take place on September 9 and 10th for the final doubleheader of the season in Seattle, Washington. Children 12 and under are free with a ticketed adult. Purchase tickets at https://www.tixr.com/groups/redbullgrc/events/rounds-8-9-atlantic-city-5295.
