Scott Anderson Returns to GRC Lites with Olsbergs MSE and Racing 4 Detroit

August 10, 2017

GRC Lites podium finisher Scott Anderson will make his return to rallycross action this weekend at Red Bull Global Rallycross Atlantic City. The Fort Collins, Colorado native will get behind the wheel of the #77 Racing 4 Detroit/Hull & Knarr GRC Lites car for Olsbergs MSE X Forces in Atlantic City and Seattle, with additional future events to be confirmed.

“This is super exciting!” Anderson said. “I’ve been really antsy to get back in a car, and I’m just happy we could finaly do it. Thanks to Robbie Buhl, Hull & Knarr, and Racing 4 Detroit for making this possible. Working with OMSE has been awesome—last year, when I came into rallycross for the first time, I was still learning what to do with the car. This team knows exactly how to get it done in rallycross, and it’s been nice to work with them. They’re a great group of guys.”

Anderson began his racing career in karts before moving into open-wheel racing, spending parts of five seasons on the Mazda Road to Indy. A race winner in the US F2000 Championship and podium finisher in both Pro Mazda and Indy Lights, he transitioned into rallycross at the end of 2016, making three starts for CORE autosport to close out the GRC Lites season. In his third race, Anderson finished second to series champion Cabot Bigham to close the season on a high note.

Olsbergs MSE X Forces is the most experienced team in Red Bull Global Rallycross, as well as its largest, with three Supercars and three GRC Lites cars with the addition of Anderson. The Lites car itself is the vision of OMSE CEO Andreas Eriksson, and currently is celebrating its fifth season of Red Bull GRC competition. OMSE driver Cyril Raymond currently leads the Lites standings, while Supercar driver Sebastian Eriksson gave Honda its first Red Bull GRC victory earlier this season.
